Last updated: 2026-07-26
This Privacy Policy describes how Phyllora ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
Introduction
Phyllora ("we", "our", or "the App") is a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to identify plants, diagnose plant diseases, and provide personalized plant care guidance. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy was last updated on July 26, 2026. By using Phyllora, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Photos and images you provide: Pictures of plants you capture with the camera or select from your photo library are uploaded to our AI processing service to return an identification or diagnosis.
- Device and technical information: Device model, operating system version, language and region settings, app version, unique device and installation identifiers, network connection type, and time zone.
- Usage and analytics data: Screens viewed, features used, session length, buttons tapped, onboarding progress, and in-app events. This may include anonymized session replay and heatmap data collected by Microsoft Clarity.
- Crash and diagnostic data: Stack traces, error logs, and device state at the time of a crash.
- Purchase information: Subscription status, transaction identifiers, purchase and renewal dates, and platform receipts. Payments are processed by Apple or Google — we never receive or store your credit card number.
- Advertising identifiers: The Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or Google Advertising ID (AAID), used only if you grant permission.
- Push notification token: A device token used to deliver plant care reminders and app notifications, if you enable them.
- Content you create in the App: Your plant collection, notes, reminders, care history, and saved diagnostics.
We do not require you to create an account with personal details, and we do not intentionally collect your name, postal address, or precise geolocation.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Analyze your plant photos and return identification, health diagnosis, and care recommendations.
- Save your garden, plant records, and reminders so they are available when you reopen the App.
- Deliver push notifications such as watering and care reminders.
- Operate, maintain, and improve app features, performance, and stability.
- Diagnose crashes and technical problems.
- Measure feature usage and run A/B tests and remote configuration to improve the experience.
- Manage free usage limits, subscriptions, and premium entitlements.
- Display advertising and measure advertising and marketing campaign performance.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Device Permissions
Phyllora requests only the permissions it needs, and each is optional — you may deny or later revoke any of them in your device settings, though some features will stop working.
- Camera: Required to photograph plants for identification and disease diagnosis. Images are captured only when you actively take a photo.
- Photo Library: Required to let you choose existing plant photos for analysis, and to save generated results or reports to your device.
- Microphone (Android): Declared by the camera module used for video capture. The App does not record or transmit audio.
- Notifications: Used to send plant care reminders and app updates. You can disable notifications at any time.
- Network / Internet: Required to send images for AI analysis, fetch remote configuration, and deliver updates and ads.
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS) / Advertising ID (Android): Used, with your consent, to personalize ads and measure campaign performance. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
Photos and AI Processing
Photos you submit are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our AI analysis service and to the third-party machine-learning providers that power identification and diagnosis. Images are processed to generate a result and are not used to identify you personally.
Please avoid including people, documents, or other sensitive content in the photos you submit. Photos you keep in your plant collection remain stored on your device and, where you have enabled cloud sync, in our secure cloud database.
Advertising
Phyllora is supported in part by advertising delivered through Google AdMob. Ad formats may include banners, interstitials, app-open ads, and optional rewarded ads.
- If you consent to tracking (iOS ATT prompt) or allow the advertising ID (Android), ads may be personalized based on your interests.
- If you decline, you will receive only non-personalized, contextual advertising.
- You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings.
- Premium subscribers may browse the App without advertisements.
We also use the Meta (Facebook) SDK and TikTok Ads events to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and app installs.
Subscriptions and Purchases
Phyllora offers optional premium subscriptions. Subscription purchases and renewals are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to validate receipts and manage your entitlement across devices. We receive subscription status and anonymized transaction data — never your payment card details.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Children's Privacy
Phyllora is a general-audience utility intended for users aged 13 and over (16 in some jurisdictions). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and on the compliance frameworks of our service providers.
Disclaimer About Plant Information
Identification results, diagnoses, and care recommendations are generated by automated systems and are provided for informational purposes only. They may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on the App to determine whether a plant is safe to eat, touch, or use medicinally. Always consult a qualified professional before consuming any plant or treating an ingestion or poisoning incident.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or through the app store listing. Continued use of Phyllora after an update means you accept the revised policy.
